Weekly activity

Once a month both offices gather together to carry through the Youth Assamblea.

The kids talk about different subjects, last week was the moment to see who passed to the next school year.

Afterwards, we brainstormed in groups to try to find new ideas for the project…

 …and to think and talk about discrimination.

The Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude visited and encouraged us to submit ideas of projects for the community.

Trip to Porto

One of the must see places in Portugal is Porto. The city is one of the oldest European centres, and its historical core was proclaimed a World Heritage Site.

The city is full of magical and beautiful spots to visit. The Livraria Lello is one of them, the bookstore was frequented by JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, when she taught English in Porto and is reported to be an inspiration for her writing. 

You can find nice little streets as well as big busy commercial ones.

It also has some great places to try traditional pastry and different dishes.

The city has a lot of touristic sights, perfect to wonder around it with friends and get to know its history and its culture.

As we are in the middle of our volunteer project, we went to our Mid-term training.

We spent three days full of activities and dynamics in the conference room…

… and in the open air. They were not only fun and inspiring, but they helped us to reflect on our learning process during our EVS.

We were lucky to be in Viseu these days because a lot of things were going on at this time!

Markets, workshops, concerts, etc.

The hostel we stayed in gave us the opportunity to play volleyball on the free time we had!

Last month it was our Slovakian volunteer turn to present her country.

She made a great presentation about Slovakia, talking us through its amazing culture.

We were happy to have the chance to get to know a bit more about it…

… and to try it!!!

During the summer holidays, we go with the kids to the beach once a week…

… to enjoy the perfect clear water.

To play games on the beach is better than anywhere else!

As the summer holidays have begun, we plan many activities on the open air!

We spent one afternoon at the Campo de Desporto…

… running around and playing different games.

The kids specially loved the games that involved water…

… which is perfect during these hot sunny days in the Algarve!
