Now we know more about Ukraine!!!

Last friday we had an oportunity to get to know Ukraine better.

Our monthly event "intercultural night" was presented by ukrainian volonteer Inna. We could try a lot of ukrainian national food and get some fresh look from insider personally. Also we had time to have a good conversation with all the volonteers, new and old. We had fun!!!

Do you know that Ukraine became independent not so long ago, in 1991?! Its a young country which tries to join EU and deal with armed attack of Russia on the east.

Tour around Faro

Tour around Faro

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays there are tours around Faro. We joined Take Algarve, which is a local company that aims to show you the authentic Algarve with our great Free Tours and amazing local guides.

The tour started from the Marina…

… and continued through the historical city center.

While we discovered Faro, our guide explained a lot historic details, tails and legends.

Nice way to spend a couple hours learning about our neighbour city in really good company.

Dia Internacional dos Monumentos e Sítios

Dia Internacional dos Monumentos e Sítios

On Saturday we attended a cultural event in Faro, a historical tour visiting a several baroque style churches.

Our guide talked us through this type of architecture and paintings.

Afterwards, we went to Faro’s museum and listened to Fado music (typical Portuguese music).

Before coming back home, we had the chance to go and try traditional cheese, wine and pork.

Wonderful day with good music and learning about Algarve's architecture!
